Skype for Business is described as professional online meetings built for business. The new version allows instant messaging, URL sharing for meetings, meeting recording and access to Office apps.

For video communication, Skype has been the de facto method. With Microsoft's acquisition of Lync and increased focus on businesses, Skype has slowly evolved, and VoIP, audio calling, chat, document sharing has become a part of Skype for Business.
