How to stop Discord from opening on startup?
There are two ways to stop Discord from opening on startup: By disabling it from the Discord application or by using the Windows Task Manager. Follow any of the two detailed processes to stop Discord from automatically starting.
Method 1: Stop Discord from opening on startup by using Discord settings
- Open the Discord app on your computer
- Navigate to the ‘User Settings' beside your avatar
- Select the ‘Windows Settings' option
- Toggle off the ‘Open Discord' option

First, turn on your computer and go to the Discord application on your desktop. Then, navigate to the User Settings. (This can be identified with the Gear icon). It is present on the right side of your avatar.

Next, select the ‘Windows Settings’ option that is visible on the left panel

Now you will see the ‘Open Discord’ option under the section of ‘System Startup Behaviour'. Lastly, toggle off the Open Discord option to stop Discord from opening on startup.

Method 2: Through the Windows Task Manager
- Go to the task manager and click on ‘More details'
- Navigate to the ‘Start-up' tab at the top
- Find Discord and then disable it
First, go to the Task Manager on your PC by right-clicking on your Taskbar. Alternatively, you can also search for it from the search box in the Taskbar. Next, click on the ‘More Details’ button at the bottom left side of your Task Manager window.


Then, choose the ‘Start-up option’ at the top of the screen. On this page, you can see all the applications that start as soon as you turn on your PC. Next, find the Discord app and select it. You will notice that a ‘Disable’ option will appear on the right bottom side of the window.
